箫蔚号A Riot dev caught a League of Legends player offering boosting services and shut it down in an unexpected way.
If there’s one thing competitive games have in common, it’s running into players who perform far too well for what their accounts suggest. For League of Legends players, that’s basically an everyday thing, no matter the rank.
Boosting services have been around for ages. They go against the game’s ToS and can get accounts banned, but people still use them anyway or even promote them, as one user did in a post on X.
Things took a bit of a turn, though, when a Riot dev spotted it and decided to respond.
